Celebration of a Life Ceremony

A Celebration of a Life Ceremony is a meaningful gathering to acknowledge the true legacy of a life that has touched the hearts of those around them.

When is the Best Time to Have a Celebration of a Life Ceremony?

  • 60th+ Birthdays: Consider how you would most like to celebrate your 60th, 70th, 80th, 90th 0r 100th birthday? Would you like to have your nearest & dearest organize a beautiful afternoon to acknowledge their favourite moments & memories with you? Perhaps there is a well loved Matriarch or Patriarch in your soul clan, family of origin or neighbourhood who is approaching such a milestone…consider the difference you could make in their life for just one day!
  • For a Terminally Ill Loved One: When a partner, child, family member or dear friend is journeying towards the gate of rebirth into the world of Spirit, these gatherings serve as a way of inviting their loved ones to express their heart’s truth & appreciation for their friend or family member before they depart. Assisting everyone through this life transition with authenticity & grace.

Why Have a Celebration of a Life Ceremony?

Without being given permission to speak these words of appreciation for fear it is the wrong time or place, many never hear firsthand the true impact they have had on those around them & yet, knowing this can often help them to feel they can let go with grace when the time comes, secure in the knowing they have truly made a difference in the world…just by being them.

Equally, being given the opportunity to speak from the heart, eases the burden on family members & friends who are preparing to let go of a loved one. For when they are not holding on to unexpressed thoughts & feelings, they too can surrender to the inevitable transition more easily.

The focus is therefore on the unique & irreplacable gift that is the Guest of Honour’s presence & provides their inner circle with an opportunity to relax, laugh, remember the highlights & share stories that are worth remembering!

And rather than being a morbid affair, these events focus on celebrating all the connections that would never have been made if it wasn’t for this person, as well as all of their strengths, idiosyncratic quirks & even some of their most ridiculous errors in judgement – because celebrating one’s uniquely divine spark, should always leave everyone feeling light-hearted.

Where Are Celebration of a Life Ceremonies Held?

Usually hosted in the family home (or backyard!) these heartwarming gatherings create the perfect opportunity to show our loved ones just how much they have shaped our lives, imparted wisdom & created a legacy that will enrich the lives of many for years to come.

Alternatively, if the Guest of Honour is in a care facility, such as a hospice the ceremony can take place in designated family meeting room or even as a candlelight vigil in their room, with guests entering one at a time to speak their tender words of gratitude & blessings.
