Separation Ceremonies

Why Have a Separation Ceremony?
When we are called to journey alone, it is most common to react with fear.  Fear that we will not have what it takes to overcome obstacles, fear we will never be chosen for who we truly are, fear of the old wounds which are resurfacing in order to be healed.

We must also grieve, grieve what could’ve been – the potential we hoped for, as well as the loss of intimate communion with a soul whom we had bonded with on many levels & become energetically enmeshed with through sexual union & often through the taking of vows.

If we enter into a committed union with sacred intent & ceremony it is equally needed to dissolve the partnership consciously, with integrity to honour what has been journeyed together, to acknowledge lessons learnt & part amicably as intimate partners to establish new pathways of relating, especially when there is co-parenting to share.

Separation ceremonies were an integral part of traditional cultures who supported couples through this painful transition with grace & dignity preparing them with wise counsel for this sacred ceremony to acknowledge all the aspects of this process with consciousness & compassion for Self & other.

What You Can Expect

These are private ceremonies for couples, however both are welcome to each bring a support person to act as a witness. Whilst it is ideal to have both partners present for mutual healing & growth, I also offer private sessions for those wanting assistance to move through this transition, even if their partner is not open to participating.

Aspects Covered in the Ceremony:

  • Revoking of Vows
  • Reclaiming of Personal Energy
  • Cutting the Ties
  • Gratitude for What You Have Gained Through this Union
  • Forgiveness
